The Things Kids Say

Yesterday, Kayla flew into town for her 1st semister break from school. When we found out April was pregnant, we wanted to tell Kayla in person. She has been begging ever since we were married to have a baby, she wanted to be a big sister soooo bad. So yesterday while having lunch, we decided to spread the news. As we ate, we told Kayla and of course she was in a little shock, happy shock, but it took a little while to sink in - she is 7, what do you expect? Well after a while, Kayla was unpacking with April when she asks, "How are you going to have a baby". April, being somewhat cautious in her answer responds, "Well, the baby grows in my tummy..." and Kayla interjects "and come out down there" (as she points to the spot where babies come out). With slight shock, April responds, "That's right, and it's probably going to hurt". Little Kayla, in all of her wiseness responds "You probably didn't think about that first, did you?" Too funny. Later, she randomly says, "I'm so glad I'm not a grown up so I don't have to deal with all that kind of stuff yet..." She certainly makes things interesting!

Baby "A", be nice to mommy....Please

Well one thing that we have missed from Virginia is how close Chili's was. Well today we went to by Kayla a bike for her birthday and was close to the Chili's here in Oregon. Well as we entered all was well and a little excited about some of the simple little things we miss. Well as our lunch was served, little baby "A" did not like Chili's as much as mommy does and we ended lunch a little early. As the afternoon progressed, we missed the family Sunday dinner with April's parents. For a long story short, I ended up going to Aprils parents and grabbing dinner. I know she can't wait for this part of pregnacy to end. For the flying part, April flies to San Fran on business tomorrow morning, we are hoping and praying it all goes great for her and she will be able to do her work and not be totally sick. So in a few, baby "A" and I will talk and hopefully baby "A" will listen to daddy and will be nice to mommy, for at least a couple hours!

Morning sickness...all day

So on the voyage to our little child, April has been experiancing extreme morning sickness. But we are wondering why they call it morning sickness, because it last all day long! The mornings have started off as lying in bed, fine, then a little dizzy, then to nausea, then feeling as she describes as extremly hung over all day long. I really feel for her. We thought at first it was the Pre-natal vitamins, but the doctor gave her better ones that only help, well a little, wow, how this stinks for her, but I am sure, it will all be worth it in the end!

Introducing, Baby "A" or "billy" as April's Fathers says

And the due date is..............................

April 25th 2009

August 23rd 2008 to September 16th 2008

On August 23rd 2008, April and Jason were at April's Mom and Dad's house alone. April approached Jason with some interesting news that she maybe pregnant. So we did what most everyone else does in this case - we ran to the store to buy a test. We came home and she "studied" for it, if you know what I mean. When the results came up, April saw a dark pink line and a very faint pink line. April came out excited, scared and possibly confused and told Jason that she was positive that the test is positive. As Jason looked, he was not convinced. Just as we debated the test, Erica (April's little sister) walked in the door. April, asked for a 3rd opinion, and the opinion was, take another test. So those two went off and bought another test, this time one that spells out the result...........And the result PREGNANT. The next day, we told parents and immediate family only, we did not want to tell everyone till after the first doctors appointment. But of course, pressure of exciting news was bearing on us all, Jason's father, told Jason's entire family, like within 10 min. of the news. April's mom and dad were doing all they could to keep quiet, so about 2 weeks later, we decided that family could know, we would inform friends after the appointment, we just wanted to make sure everything was ok.
So, now to the present. On the 16th of September, April and I went in to the first of many doctors appointments. Dr. Allison will be Aprils doctor, she was very nice, sweet and friendly and was very helpfully in answering questions, she was also "gentle" with the exam. She did an Ultra-sound and we saw the baby, the very fast heartbeat, and a very health yoke sac. So, the due date is set...................
